What is learning? Is it the act of gathering in a single space to learn a certain thing at a certain time? Is there a limit to this natural way of learning at school? In this day and age, when diverse values and skills are in demand, Japan's standardized education system should be replaced by a more flexible educational system. On the other hand, small schools in rural areas have stronger ties with local resources and people, and the entire community learns together with the children, but the declining birthrate is leading to school consolidation. This proposal will create a “livable school” that integrates education and daily life while taking advantage of the benefits of small-group education. Beyond the framework of the school, not only the classroom, but also the residence and workplace itself will become a field of learning. Families and local residents learn and teach each other together with teachers and children, creating a community that transcends generations. The entire community will create a “cycle of learning,” and the school will function as a town center that restores the vitality of the community.
