作品コンセプト

題材は奈良県曽爾村。限界集落化が進み、懐古や牧歌的な生活文化が根付いていたが、徐々に失われつつある。「村の終わり方として、そこに生活と文化があったことを継承し、地域性を活かした観光で風景を維持する方法」が問われている。本設計はその一つの在り方を提案するものである。曽爾村には曽爾高原をはじめ美しい風景が残り、毎年多くの人が訪れる。加えて、観光化されていないが、住民の生活文化や風景の記憶も息づいている。そこで、そうした村民の文化や風景を提供する場として、何気ない木造住宅をデジタルリノベーションし、村民単位の思い出を眺められる空間をつくることにした。

The subject is Soni Village, Nara Prefecture. The village has become a marginalized community, and the nostalgia and pastoral lifestyle and culture that had taken root there are gradually being lost. The village is now facing the question of “how to preserve the scenery through tourism by inheriting the lifestyle and culture that existed there and by making the most of the local characteristics as a way to end the village. This design proposes one way of doing so. Soni Village has beautiful scenery, including the Soni Plateau, which attracts many visitors every year. In addition, although it is not a tourist destination, the lifestyle and culture of the villagers and the memory of the scenery are still alive. Therefore, we decided to digitally renovate an ordinary wooden house and create a space to view the memories of the village residents as a place to offer such culture and scenery.
