The use of drones in construction is now not limited to aerial photography and inspection, but is also changing the construction process. There is an example of an aerial construction using a drone and fiber that does not require scaffolding. In this project, in response to the urban issue of increasing vacancies in office buildings, we plan to create an "aerial city," as Hiroshi Hara attempted in the Umeda Sky Building, by connecting buildings with each other using the "Drone Nest," an aerial architecture using drones. Drone Nest is made of fiber composite materials of GFRP and CFRP. The fiber arrangement is determined by biomimicry and takes a rational form through structural analysis. Drone construction allows for complex forms that are not bound by this notation. The resulting Drone Nest sometimes becomes an aerial escape route, sometimes a hanging garden, and improves the safety, convenience, and public nature of the city. The urban landscape and experience there will be more natural.
