Sakai once prospered as a ring city and port town because of the sea.
For this city, seawater protected the city and created liveliness.
Over time, the sea became more distant, the relationship between the sea and the city was severed, and the connection between water and people was lost.
Therefore, we proposed an architecture along the Uchigawa River, where seawater flows into the town, that would welcome the water and create a gathering place for people.
As living creatures spend their time in the pools, various activities with the water occur depending on changes in the water level.
We propose a community that expands from this pool.
We will use this as a starting point to build new connections between people and water.
