Bamboo forests, which have been a familiar resource for Japanese people since ancient times and have created beautiful landscapes, are now considered harmful and neglected throughout Japan due to social problems such as the entry of inexpensive imported bamboo, the shrinking size of the domestic market, and the lack of bearers, as well as strict management due to their strong reproductive capacity. In addition, many of the abandoned bamboo forests are located in suburban cities where the history of the land has been overwritten by housing development during the period of rapid economic growth, and many issues remain for the promotion and succession of the bamboo industry. Therefore, this plan proposes a new way of coexistence between bamboos and humans while improving neglected bamboo forests. In suburban residential areas where the number of vacant houses is increasing due to the aging and declining population, the objective is to create a new landscape of life created by living in harmony with bamboo.
