2021年、フランスで「動物芸」が禁止されることとなった。今後は水族館空間そのものに規制がかかっていくことも予想されている。日本は現段階でこのような法案を完璧には取り入れていないものの、海外で生き物との関わりが厳しくなるにつれ、それに倣って水族館の在り方を変えるよう、声があがってくるのは明白である。
本計画では上記の議題のひとつとして考えられる水族館の存在有無に焦点を当てて考えている。
「生き物が可哀そうだからこんな空間に入れてはダメ」皮肉なことだがそのような考えを持たせることもまた水族館の役割だと考える。マジョリティーが正解であり、全てとされる世の中、そして同調圧力の強い我が国で自分の揺るがない意思を持つことの大切さ、そして人と水族たちの在り方について人々が考えを持つきっかけとなる空間を目指す。
In 2021, France banned the use of wild animals in shows. In the future, the existence of aquariums could be regulated. With this trend in animal welfare, it is clear that there would be voices raised to change the ideal way of aquariums in Japan.
This project focuses on whether aquariums are worth, considering these ideas.
In this world where everything is based on majority, this space aims to become a place where people could think about how people and sea animals should be.
