風景には、地域に従来備わる歴史や文化、人々の記憶から想起される「潜在的な価値や可能性（＝潜在風景）」がある。
近年、少子高齢化に伴う人口減少や空き家・空地の増加により風土に根付いた生活文化や風景は綻び始めている。また漁村集落は高密度住宅の中でも条件不利な立地が多く、上記課題に加えて生業の衰退などにより今後の安住の岐路に立たされている。
本研究では、和歌山市に位置する漁村集落である雑賀崎地区を対象に、各敷地の現状と潜在風景が重層する建築を計画する。これらの建築により、住民主体の連鎖的なコミュニティ形成を促すとともに、住民と来訪者が交わり新たな関係人口を受け入れるリジェネラティブな交流拠点を提案する。
Every site holds a latent essence—a potential shaped by history and collective memory. In Saikazaki’s aging fishing village, this cultural fabric is fraying. This study proposes architecture where current site realities intersect with these hidden layers of memory. By creating regenerative hubs, we aim to spark resident-led communities and welcome "relational populations" to revitalize the village’s enduring spirit.
