私は一般的な住宅地で育ってきたが一つだけ特徴的なところがある。それは工場団地が形成されているところだ。工場で働くことや工場そのものにマイナス的なイメージを抱きやすい。しかし私の父と祖父が実際に働いており、帰宅してくる父の作業着は私にとってユニホームのように感じた。身近に工場と関係がある人がおり物理的には近くにあるが、働く姿も見たことがなく精神的に遠い場所であった。生活していく中で工業地区と住宅地区の境界には「見えない壁」というものが存在しているように感じた。区域というもので分断されている地区を繋ぐだけでは見えない壁は無くならない。拡張している工場といまだ残る住宅に着目し、区域という概念を取り払い、2つ合わせた住宅工業地域を目指す。そして非日常であった工場が日常に溶け込むことで新しい関係性を得れる。
It is easy to have a negative image of factory. My dad were working and I felt that there was an "invisible wall" at the boundary between the industrial area and the residential area. The invisible wall will not disappear just by connecting the districts that are divided by the area. We will remove the concept of areas and aim for a housing industry area that combines the two.
