"Chikubu Island" floaing in the northern part of Lake Biwa is a mysterious island where a god dwells. The beautiful deep green landscape of evergreen Machilus thunbergii on a granite island has been loved and worshiped by people since ancient times. In the surrounding area, lake transportation is the center of life, and forest conservation has been carried out while using the forest resources of Chikubu Island. However, due to the development of land transportation, the lifestyles of the local people have changed, and people's lives are no longer involved from Chikubu Island. As a result, the number of great cormorants exploded, and the trees on Chikubu Island died and the forests were destroyed due to the effects of nesting of great cormorants. This is a result of the collapse of the relationship between forests, people, and birds. It is difficult to change the lifestyle of today's people, and it is not easy to maintain the relationship of the former three parties. Therefore, as a new perspective of learning, we propose an environmental learning facility that intervenes people on Chikubu Island, restores the equilibrium with new relationships between forests, people, and birds, recover the former dark greenery, and leaves it for posterity.
