近年、都市景観の連続性の欠如や、都市空間の連続性の欠如などの都市空間分断が問題視されているが、その中でも「駅空間」は代表的な例の１つである。実際に、自由に行き来できる通路などを設けて、動線的な繋がりを作っているものの、人々の交わりや賑わいなどの生活空間としての都市空間のつながりに欠け、本当の意味での都市空間分断が解決されたとは言えないのではないか。 線路やホーム、駅ビル、ロータリーなどを総まとめにした「駅空間」として都市の中に割って入って置かれ、人々の交わりはその中、またはその外で完結するものとなっている。
そこで、駅空間と周辺都市の賑わいを緩やかに連続させ、多方面から来る人々や地元の人々が様々な活動を通して交わる丘を架けることで、賑わう風景の表出装置(ディスプレイ)として都市の顔となるような、駅空間と都市空間が混ざり合う空間を提案する。
I think that the station space such as the station buildings and the rotary is cutting off the bustle with the city. Therefore, by loosely connecting them and building a hill where people who come from various cities and locals meet through various activities, I propose a space where the bustle becomes the face of the city as a display device for the lively landscape.
