Ten years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake. The unprecedented horror of the disaster is always a memory that we would like to forget, but it is inevitable that natural disasters will strike again. In order to be prepared for the catastrophe that will strike again when we have forgotten about it, the issue of "how to pass on the story of the earthquake" has become an issue in the disaster areas that are still under reconstruction. This project was inspired by the remains of the earthquake. Conventional heritage facilities are exclusive and closed. In addition, they often end with the conclusion that they are sensitive spaces. However, the proposed architecture and landscape, while being a sensitive space, is also spiritual in that it recalls the memory of the land, and is also a public place open to the surroundings. This will essentially incorporate the traditional space as a part of the town and solve the current situation where it tends to be just a specialized facility.
